OSHA’s rules, regulations, and standards.
This Fire Extinguisher safety training is unique in that is uses
augmented reality technology throughout the training. That means that users will experience
examples of dangerous and hazardous situations of a chemical fire as if they
were there in the moment but without being in any real physical harm.
Users taking the Fire Extinguisher safety training
will be able to interact with the training because there are multiple areas
from them to click, as well as periodic quizzes on the material. The quizzes are unique to the safety training
because users must receive a certain grade, which is determined by the
employer, on the quiz to continue the safety training module.
MYMIC Training Technologies’ expects users
who complete the Fire Extinguisher training to be able to successfully put out
a chemical fire. Before fighting a
chemical fire, always establish an evacuation route, and the appropriate type
of extinguisher for the hazards that caused the fire. It is important to remember that if any
employee feels as though their health or safety is in danger to evacuate
immediately and call the fire department.
MYMIC Training Technologies’ uses the PASS guidelines for putting out a
chemical fire. The first step in the
PASS acronym is to Pull, which is referring to pulling the pin on the fire
extinguisher. Once the pin is pulled, it
is important do always test to make sure that the fire extinguisher is not
empty.
Next in the acronym is Aim, which
is referring to aiming at the base of the fire and not the top of it. Squeeze is the following step which will
release the mono-ammonium phosphate, which is the main chemical used to put out
the fire. Sweep is the last step, which
is referring to the motion of side to side, which the fire extinguisher should
be done in to put out the chemical fire safely.
This training created by MYMIC Training Technologies’ gives the user
hands on, interactive experience in putting out a virtual chemical fire. This will help the users with their learning
retention because they will feel as though they put out an actual fire as
opposed to a virtual one. MYMIC Training
Technologies has a highly skilled and dedicated graphics team which puts in
numerous hours to create the best training and experience possible.
