Lockout Tagout Safety Training | Mymic Training Technologies
MYMIC Training Technologies’Lockout Tagout safety training is created to teach users the proper safety
measures and cautions to take when working with hazardous energy and control
devices to ensure optimal safety. All of
the safety techniques that are demonstrated in the Lockout Tagout safety
training are complaint to OSHA’s rules, regulations, and standards.
Our Lockout Tagout training is unique in that is uses augmented reality technology
throughout the training. That means that
users will experience examples of dangerous and hazardous situations as if they
were there in the moment but without being in any real physical harm.
Users taking the safety training will be able
to interact with the training because there are multiple areas from them to
click, as well as periodic quizzes on the material. The quizzes are unique to the safety training
because users must receive a certain grade, which is determined by employer, on
the quiz to continue the safety training module.
Lockout Tagout is a safety procedure which
requires that heavy machinery is properly shut off and cannot be turned back on
until the completion of maintenance. This requires that hazardous energy be
placed in solitude and labeled as inactive before the work is started on the
piece of equipment at question. A tag is placed, which identifies the person
who locked the hazardous or dangerous equipment, and it is locked until able to
safety operate.
The worker who locked the hazardous energy is the only person
who can unlock the equipment because they are the holder of the key. By doing
this, the accidental startup of a machine while it is in a hazardous state or
while a worker is in direct contact with it is eliminated. Lockout Tagout is mandated by law in some
countries and is considered a safe way to avoid using the hazardous equipment.
In
today’s machinery there can be many hazards for workers such as electricity, hydraulic pressure and accumulation. Many
sites have the officially stated policy that only the person who tagged the
device can un-tag it. This means that if a worker goes home after their shift
without removing the tag from a device which is ready to use, then they will
have to travel back to the site to untag it. Giving approval for the removal of
a tag over the phone is prohibited.
MYMIC Training Technologies has a dedicated
